Bored of it yet? At Least you are Alive.
Have you ever felt a weakness and pervasive BOREDOM inner-feeling for life? Have you ever caught yourself in the middle of daily mundane routines and thought...what happened to my life? Where did the joyous, impromptu, zest, zeal, newness and excitement go?
Personally, I sometimes wonder, if I have simply just done it all. How do I re-invent, and rekindle an invigorating fondness for things? For me personally, once I had modeled in the nation's largest city, and slept with more worldly girls than is necessary, you intrinsically wonder, what else is there for me to do? Should I attempt a Round 2?
Moving along, think about these more youthful, contemporary stars whom famously died at early ages. Heath Ledger, River Phoenix, Kurt Cobain, Amy Whinehouse, Paul Walker, Philip Seymour Hoffman, Princess Diana of Great Britain, 2 Pac Shakur, the list continues.
Life, living, and the world is special. Cherish it!
In real life, I once recall walking past Philip Seymour Hoffman, the actor, on a spring or summer evening alongside my girlfriend in the West Village of New York City. Philip was lounging and sitting on the sidewalk, just enjoying the neighborhood, exactly how a Bohemian West Village resident should. As we strolled past him, I told my girlfriend at that time, "Hey look, that's an Oscar Winner, just chilling on the curb." She noticed, and we decided not to bother him with conversation. Well it's too late to say hello now.
I also recall, while working at the boutique Hotel Gansevoort, when the late Actor Paul Walker was a guest at the Meatpacking destination. All of my female co-workers at the Hotel seemed to oohh and ahhh with Paul's gentlemanly, calm, regular man presence. If my memory serves me correct, he was seen out with the same blonde cute girl throughout his entire stay. As an observer, I am inferring from the Late Mr. Walker's public persona, that he was a caring gentlemen. Where-as some youthful male celebrity hot shots, would have used their fame to become woman hoarding playboys, Paul was the opposite. I'm guessing he fit in well, during his visits to the Southern United States.
Lastly, years ago I recall walking down Broome Street, in the SoHo neighborhood in Lower Manhattan and witnessing first hand the flower filled, street memorial for the Late Actor, Heath Ledger. At the time, Heath had just completed an Oscar winning character performance as the villainous Joker, in the Dark Knight, Batman blockbuster movie. As I walked past his popular, fan filled flower street memorial, I felt sorry for the man, his wife, and family. He left them behind, while he still had plenty, plenty of worth while life remaining to continue.
Quick detour advice lesson, please don't do drugs to excess, and also refrain from speeding while driving.
Where am I going with this you ask? Remember that when you feel super BORED of life, at least you are still ALIVE, and can change if you so desire! The routines of bill paying, parental nagging, monotonous significant other love making, same city atmosphere, same weather, and same food can sometimes press you down, but don't let it.
Perhaps a different way to counteract the mundane, routine of life, is to cherish and embrace life's little joys. Perhaps learn to enjoy basic daily life actions. You could start singing in the shower, you could inhale deeper breathes of oxygen during your morning coffee wake-up, you could chew your meals slower to actually enjoy the meal process. There are ample ways to find happiness, throughout the normal times in life. Create and recognize your own.
If you are truly feeling "Bored of it," try mixing it up. Maybe it is time for you to take a day trip or mini-vacation? Maybe you should take the day off, and go to the Art Museum, see a Matinee, or adventure out and about for a random Day Drinking plunge? I don't have all the answers, those were just some spontaneous ideas that came to my head.
When life grinds to a loathsome and cumbersome 9-5 working routine, just remember that at least you are still physically alive to do it. The world is an amazing place, and you can pursue your dreams and freedoms if you want to. I'm rooting for us all! Let's make it happen!
